What first-time applicants should save instead

• Your NJSP Logon ID.
• Your application ID and application confirmation.
• The fingerprinting instructions generated for your application.
• Your class booking and training record.
• Your approval notice and E-SORA ID once NJSP approves the application.

Current first-time SORA route

1. Use the official NJSP applicant portal. Create or return to your application; do not open duplicate records because you lost a login.
2. Follow the fingerprint instructions in your application. Use the identifiers and vendor route NJSP provides.
3. Complete the required 24-hour training. Use an NJSP-certified instructor and complete every required hour.
4. Wait for official approval before working. A class completion, application receipt or pending status is not permission to work.
5. Download your E-SORA ID after approval. NJSP replaced the hard plastic card with an electronic ID on November 1, 2023.
